As an actor and scriptwriter, I figured I’d write a short film that I could make myself. After a few sleepless, caffeine-fueled nights, I had a rough draft in front of me.
Funnily enough, even though I started writing for myself, the script began taking on a life of its own. What started as a short film that used my skill of sleight of hand (I’ve worked as a magician and a mentalist for corporate entertainment since the 90’s) The story started going places, and I was merely the secretary, typing down what happened, what the characters said and did.
As the story evolved, I realized it was no longer about me. It was about Sara, it was about loss, survivor’s guilt, art, and the fear of not being good enough. It became a film about magic—and the courage to take a leap of faith.
That script became “Sleight of Hand and a Twist of Fate”. A powerful short film about loss, survivor’s guilt, art, and the fear of not being good enough.
But I wasn’t going to do this alone. It takes a village to raise a baby, and this movie indeed became my baby. I teamed up with director Adrian Burt, who instantly fell in love with the script. I found a lead actress whose presence is absolutely mesmerizing, someone who truly resonates with the emotional depth of the story.

And now, I find myself not directing, but instead wearing multiple hats—writer, actor, and producer.
We are aiming high with Sleight of Hand and a Twist of Fate, making it a professional short film on every level.. I’ve assembled an incredibly talented team, both in front of and behind the camera, and together, we are bringing this vision to life.
